Ledger Fabric

Ledger Provenance: This design is inspired by an old ledger book belonging to the family of Ted Armstrong. Ted's family used to own a general store in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. The ledger book kept from the family's store dates back to 1868 and includes records of many standard goods from that time like 2 pounds of lard, a pound of sugar, a bolt of flannel and a female pig, all entered in beautiful clear script/penmanship. The ledger book over time became a scrap book for newspaper clippings from the daily paper. Poems feature regularly as do short stories from the "Children's Corner". A loose page of a calendar marks the Battle of Cuidad Rodrigo on the same day in 1812. Most text and script is legible on Ledger and makes for interesting reading and great visual impact.
